Locust Projects’ annual Smash and Grab will be held on October 13, 2018, and the event promises to be as lively and fun as ever. Thanks to the support of local artists, Locust Projects has grown from an artist-run alternative space to one of the country’s foremost incubator of new art and ideas. Over the years, we have maintained our steady focus on supporting artists and engaging Miami’s art community and we do it with your support.
There is no other fundraiser quite like this one. It revolves around a raffle, for which local, national and international artists donate artwork — so that each raffle ticket holder is guaranteed an artwork. Tickets are drawn at random during the party, with the winner getting their choice of artwork. The result is a fun way to place artwork into collections, inspire new collectors in an informal environment, build networking opportunities for artists, connect with Miami’s art community, and support Locust Projects.
Approximately 100 art works will be selected.
August 1 -- First Day to submit art work. Submissions must be received via the ONLINE Submittable link.
September 25 -- Final Day to submit art work (submissions close at 11:30 pm)
September 28 -- Selected artists will be notified.
Oct 1 -- Deadline for art work to arrive at Locust Projects
October 13 -- Smash and Grab
CRITERIA: Art works must have minimum commercial value of $500. Works must be ready to hang with mounting hardware and installation instructions provided; unframed works on paper (print or photographic work) are considered on a case-by-case basis.
