Locust Talks: Franklin Sirmans

Date & Time:

Location:

3852 N Miami Ave, Miami, Florida 33127

Locust Projects is pleased to join a global network of Screening Sites for the 2015 Creative Time Summit: The Curriculum at La Biennale Di Venezia on August 11th-13th.

This year’s Summit is a vital component of acclaimed curator Okwui Enwezor’s All the World’s Futures, the 56th International Art Exhibition, la Biennale di Venezia. The Curriculum will take place at the Teatro alle Tese in the heart of la Biennale’s Arsenale. Over three full days, the Summit will explore the relationships between knowledge production and social contracts that exist both inside and outside the confines of formal education.

The Curriculum promises everything you’ve come to expect from Creative Time: thoughtful, provocative ideas and discussions addressing the most pressing issues of our times. There are critical conversations to be had, and to do so on this particular international stage provides a unique opportunity to consider the potentialities of art across an array of geographies. Distinguished presenters already include president of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, Mariam Ghani, Charles Gaines, Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy, Emily Jacir, Achille Mbembe, Cesare Pietroiusti, Teju Cole, Antonio Negri, Edwidge Danticat, and many more. More information on presenters can be found at http://creativetime.org/summit/speakers/.
