Accepting proposals from South Florida MFA students

Opportunity: Exhibition in Locust Projects' Project Room in conjunction with The LAB (Locust Arts Builders)

Eligibility: Artists currently enrolled in MFA studio art programs at universities in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach counties, or residing in those counties but enrolled in low-residency MFA programs outside the region, may apply

Exhibition Dates: Weekdays, June 27 – July 13, 2013

Public Opening Reception: Saturday, July 13, 7-10pm

Deadline: April 20, 2013 – applications must be received by 5pm


Opportunity Description:

Locust Projects is pleased to announce an open call to South Florida graduate-level artists for a solo exhibition in Locust Projects' Project Room during the summer of 2013. We are accepting applications for solo or collaborative projects. All artists must be currently enrolled in MFA students.

Locust Projects is alternative, not for profit exhibition space dedicated to providing contemporary visual artists the freedom to experiment with new ideas without the pressures of gallery sales or limitations of conventional exhibition spaces.

Application instructions

  1. Artist resume or CV. Please include artist contact information.
  2. Project proposal, including budget for supplies. (Up to $1,000).
  3. Images/renderings of proposed artwork for Locust Projects' Project Room.
    Floor plan can be downloaded here.
  4. 6-10 images of previous work. Images on CD in jpeg format, 72 dpi, maximum width 1500 pixels.
  5. Caption list of proposed work and previous work.

We will not accept submissions by email. Applicants who do not submit all the required items may be eliminated from the review process. Materials will not be returned to the artist.

Applications must be received before 5pm on April 20, 2013
