Celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2021, the Locust Art Builders (The LAB) program offers opportunities to the next generation of artists and creatives from schools across the county to connect and collaborate with their peers to learn to build the world they imagine starting with collaboratively building an exhibition from scratch in a nationally-recognized alternative art space. 

Since it was founded, the LAB has provided over 185 students with a unique hands-on experience. Led by mentor professional artists, LAB students work together to create a large-scale immersive installation. Each year’s exhibition is a timely reflection of the issues and ideas faced by today’s youth, with themes that hold meaning unique to each cohort and year.
