During intimate conversations, the six arts leaders featured in 2018 will talk about their curatorial vision and practice, the art and artists that have shaped their careers, and how they support the work of artists whether in museums or non-traditional spaces. Each will also visit the studios of local artists, providing feedback and visibility that can build a bridge between artists working in Miami and the international cultural community. Talks is the first partnership between nonprofits Locust Projects and ArtCenter/South Florida, two of the city’s most venerable cultural institutions, coming together under new leadership to provide artist-centered programming.
The Locust Projects + ArtCenter/South Florida’s Talks are made possible with support from the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade Mayor and Board of County Commissioners; the City of Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council; the Miami Beach Mayor and City Commissioners; and the State of Florida, Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts
