Locust Projects and Tigertail Productions are pleased to present a site specific installation by Brazilian artist Albano Afonso. This exhibition is part of the FLA-BRA Festival. A few months ago Locust Projects was sent to Brazil by Tigertail Productions to meet with and select artists for upcoming shows in Miami. Locust Projects selected Sao Paulo artist Albano Alfonso to make a site specific installation. Albano Afonso's work involves appropriated imagery from Old World masters' paintings, precise control/manipulation of environmental lighting, popular printed imagery and an atmospheric engagement with the viewer. His works begins as formal planning in the artist's studio, but quickly become large site-specific installations. The audience is immersed in a sort of 'art-experiment', where the conventions of still imagery are literally expanded into physical presence.
