Locust Projects is pleased to present Meta-gallery by Andrew Horton. For his first solo exhibition, Horton will build a freestanding microgallery in the Project Room, establishing an independently functioning, hyper-paced version of an artist-run space that he will program for the duration of the exhibition. This transformable temporary structure will have its own address, 20 NW 39th Street, and will function at an excessive rate with rapidly changing events and exhibitions announced daily via social media and the Meta-gallery website. Exhibitions, events and programs held in Meta-gallery will function under pressure as viewers and participating artists experience art production as an act of endurance. Andrew Horton’s proposal was selected for the 2014LAB MFA exhibition fellowship, open to Florida-based MFA candidates.
