LOCUST PROJECTS is pleased to showcase a new project by New York artist Matthew Brannon. Known for working in the space between different disciplinary fields, Brannon likes to tangle up painting and decor, printmaking and advertising, graphic design and murals, remixing things in the process until they edge indeterminacy. He has become known as much for his own artworks as for the poster he designs for friends and the catalogs he has produced for exhibitions to which he has been invited. Always negotiating with the demands of the functional, Brannon is always after that place where deadpan wit meets rigorous ambiguity, where the concerns of post-conceptual art meet the demands of the dandy. After producing indoor murals in Berlin and Los Angeles, Brannon is going outdoors in Miami. On the façade of Locust projects, he will produced his first outdoor mural of butcher knives and cleaves.
