Linger late for an electrifying live performance by Portland-based experimental duo MSHR, the art collective of Birch Cooper and Brenna Murphy. Founded in 2011 in Portland, Oregon, their work merges digital sculpture, analog circuitry, and ceremonial performance to create immersive audiovisual environments. Using custom-built synthesizers, open-source software, and feedback systems, they craft generative installations and live performances that respond to human presence. Emerging from Oregon Painting Society, MSHR has exhibited internationally at venues like Transmediale (Berlin), Eyebeam (NYC), and Kunstverein Düsseldorf. Their name, a modular acronym, reflects their evolving, interdisciplinary approach to building self-transforming, cybernetic systems of light and sound.
This event is free and open to the public, and presented as part of the Knight Digital Innovation Initiative at Locust Projects. Complimentary refreshments are available for guests aged 21 and older courtesy of Topo Chico.
