Who says using cutting-edge software requires expensive gear? For this month’s DiLL, join Miami’s first official Epic Games Unreal Authorized Instructor and DiLL alumna, Valentina Echeverry, for a workshop surveying low-cost 3D motion capture techniques, followed by an immersive multimedia performance by artist duo MyFi Studio in the round. Artists and attendees of all skill levels are strongly encouraged to #BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) and follow along!

7pm Workshop | Valentina Echeverry: Realtime Suitless Motion Capture Workflows
Miami’s first Epic Games Unreal Authorized Instructor and DiLL alumna, Valentina Echeverry, leads a hands-on workshop introducing accessible, low-cost techniques for animating digital bodies without the need for suits, sensors, or costly hardware. Using Epic Games’ Mocap Manager and Live Link tools in Unreal Engine 5.6, participants will learn how to capture, retarget, and animate their own movements in real time, gaining a practical understanding of how performance can live inside virtual space. Designed for artists and creatives of all backgrounds, this session demystifies motion capture through playful experimentation, offering new insight into how technology can elevate storytelling without breaking the bank. Super important: #BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop)!

9pm Performance | Your Desktop is My TV by MyFi Studio
Linger late as artist duo and DiLL alumni MyFi Studio open their computers and let their glitchy sounds and visuals run free at the DiLL. Composed of Aimee Rubensteen and Dr. Josh Eisenberg, MyFi Studio builds and performs with code-based electronic music and video instruments. An homage to pioneering video artist Nam June Paik, this performance features a multi-channel audiovisual presentation that imagines a network of screens as an experimental stage. Audiences are encouraged to sit, stand, or move around the space to experience the performance from multiple points of view while observing the artists at work.

This event is free and open to the public, and presented as part of the Knight Digital Innovation Initiative at Locust Projects. Refreshments are provided for guests aged 21 and older, courtesy of our 2025–26 sponsors The Tank Brewing Co. and Topo Chico.
