This year, we will gather in celebration of Jorge and Darlene’s contributions to the arts and for the premiere of the Mare Magnvm Cosmology, an immersive installation by Edison Peñafiel, our featured Miami Art Week artist. We are also deeply grateful to Sarah Arison, who will serve as Honorary Chair.

Inspired by Peñafiel’s work, A Buen Puerto will welcome up to 120 guests for a singular evening where art, food, performance, and sound come together in a transformative dining experience. Evoking a journey across a monochromatic sea toward safe harbor, the evening will unfold as a passage through connection, reflection, and renewal.

ABOUT THE HONOREES | Jorge M. and Darlene Pérez

Jorge M. and Darlene Pérez share a commitment to giving that has transformed communities across South Florida and beyond. Guided by their belief in philanthropy as a true catalyst and vehicle for expanded opportunities and strong communities, they have invested in initiatives spanning education, healthcare, economic development, the environment and the arts.

Through both The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation and The Related Philanthropic Foundation, the Pérezes have given over $350 million to causes supporting art, cultural, education, and health. Their leadership in targeted private giving has specifically shaped landmark institutions such as the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), Tate Modern, and Museo Reina Sofía; and launched impactful initiatives like the CreARTE Grants Program in partnership with The Miami Foundation — through which they have gifted $16 million to over 56 nonprofit organizations to date.

A signatory of The Giving Pledge, Jorge M. Pérez has committed to donating at least half of his wealth during his lifetime, reflecting the couple's enduring belief that lasting impact is achieved through sustained philanthropy and long-term investment in communities.

ABOUT THE ARTIST | Edison Peñafiel

Edison Peñafiel (b. 1985, Guayaquil, Ecuador) is a Miami-based interdisciplinary artist working in immersive video installation, sound, and textile. His work has been presented at the USF Contemporary Art Museum (Tampa), The Ringling Museum of Art (Sarasota), The Orlando Museum of Art, Sabrina Amrani Gallery (Madrid), the Ford Foundation Gallery (New York), and Passerelle Centre d'Art Contemporain (Brest, France).

Peñafiel is a recipient of the VIA Art Fund Artistic Production Grant, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Creative Research Grant, and Oolite Arts' Ellies Creator Award, the Knight Arts Challenge Award, among others. He is represented by Fredric Snitzer Gallery, Miami, and Sabrina Amrani Gallery, Madrid.
